CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Firefighters were called to the 2100 block of 8th Street SW shortly before 10 pm on Wednesday on reports of a house fire.

The caller said there were heavy flames coming from the attic and the roof, according to a press release from Akron Fire Department.

A medical unit was the first on scene and reported heavy fire on the second floor.

Fire crews initiated an interior attack. No one was found inside. A company was called to board up the house, according to the release.

The home is in the Kenmore neighborhood where earlier this week two house fires killed two people and left one hospitalized.
