ORRVILLE, Ohio (WOIO) - Police said Maple Heights man is jailed following a Wednesday afternoon incident that led to the death of one woman.

Police said officers witnessed Kenneth J. Crenshaw, 33, armed with a pistol, standing over Jadea Jarvis, who was unconscious and bleeding.

Police asked Crenshaw to put down the gun multiple times, but he did not, according to a statement.

Police said Crenshaw yelled “Shoot me!” numerous times before being shot in the right arm.

Police said the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 200 block of Chateau Circle.

Jarvis was taken to Orrville Aultman Hospital, where she died.

Crenshaw was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries before being arrested on aggravated murder charges by Orrville police. He was taken to Wayne County Jail.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) said they are investigating.

The officers involved were not injured, according to a statement from the Ohio Attorney General’s office.
