CLEVELAND (WOIO) - Some mail destined for Cleveland residents has hit a snag in Pittsburgh.
No, it has nothing to do with the Browns’ back-to-back wins over the Steelers; instead, Pittsburgh is merely holding marketing mail while Cleveland catches up on holidays deliveries, United States Postal Service spokesperson for Northern Ohio Naddia Dhalai said.
“To flex our network during the holiday rush, Pittsburgh accepted Cleveland’s marketing mail. The Pittsburgh plant is dispatching the mail to Cleveland for processing and delivery. Normal processing will return by the end of the week,” Dhalai said.
Less than 30 percent of first-class mail was delivered on time in December in Northern Ohio, data shows.
That caused problems ranging from holiday packages not being delivered in time for Christmas Day to bills not being delivered before they were due.
Only marketing mail, including circulars and coupons, is being held in Pittsburgh.
