$1M bond for Akron woman accused of killing another woman

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A 36-year-old woman pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Thursday morning in Akron Municipal Court to murdering another woman.

The judge ordered Rochelle Paul held on a $1 million bond.

Sara Stubbs, 24, was stabbed to death early Wednesday morning just after midnight inside a home in the 1100 block of Nome Avenue.

Officers immediately rendered first aid until EMS transported her to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center.

Stubbs died from her injuries just before 1 a.m.

Akron police said they stopped Paul as she was trying to flee the scene.

Paul is charged with aggravated murder and felonious assault and locked up in the Summit County Jail.
