WASHINGTON, D.C. (WOIO) - President Donald Trump earned an additional paragraph in future history books on Wednesday when he became the first U.S. President to be impeached twice.

The House earned the votes to impeach yesterday afternoon when 10 Republican lawmakers crossed party lines.

U.S. Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (D-Ohio) joined nine fellow GOP House members who voted to impeach President Donald Trump.

Gonzalez said the events leading up to Jan. 6 and the president’s lack of response to the violent Capitol attack led him to impeach.

Gonzalez represents Rocky River. He used to play professional football for the Indianapolis Colts.
