CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cavs career of Kevin Porter Jr. will be a short one, according to The Athletic.
Porter is “expected to be traded or released” after an incident in the locker room Friday, the website is reporting.
Porter allegedly was upset that the team had assigned his locker to newly-acquired Taurean Prince.
“I’ll leave those questions to (G.M.) Koby (Altman) to handle, " Cavs head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Monday on a media zoom call.
When asked if the Porter situation is a distraction, Bickerstaff said “No, we had a great day of practice....I think the players will be disappointed because they have a relationship with Kevin, like we all do.... I don’t have any doubt that our guys will continue to put their best foot forward in moving us forward as a group.”
Porter, 20, has not played this season due to personal issues. He averaged 10 points a game last season.
He was a first-round pick of the Cavs, the 30th overall, in 2019.
