Troubleshooter: Progress slow for East Side mom living with no heat
Single mother wants heat turned on and rodents dealt with at the Broadwalk Apartments in Glenville
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Antionette Gough is boiling mad. She can’t believe that after living at the Boardwalk Apartments in Glenville for 10 months she can’t depend on a reliable heating system.
“This is disgusting, and I am sick that I am being forced to live like this,” said Gough. “My kids and I are running out of options.”
A situation residents at this complex thought was under control apparently is far from being resolved.
Last week 19 News reported our efforts to help a 23-year-old mother of two infants who has been living without heat in her apartment for almost a year.
Her city councilman Kevin Conwell took 19 News’ Ronnie Duncan with him to survey the property looking for answers and talking to neighbors.
“Channel 19 News is with me also,” he told a resident. “They called me - told me there are a lot of issues and concerns here.”
Even his presence wasn’t enough to help Gough. She is still without the comfort that she needs this winter.
“I am very, very frustrated I still have no heat,” she said. “The mice issue is getting worst every day. You can literally hear them scratching all throughout the walls.”
Financially Antionette has no place where she can go.
But right now she will have to stand and bare it until city officials put the pieces together.
