63-year-old man killed in head-on crash in Chester Township

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - A 63-year-old man is dead after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 250 in Wayne County.
The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 250 just east of the Rathburn Road intersection shortly after 10:30 a.m., according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol press release.
A blue 2010 Chevrolet Suburban was headed west on U.S. Highway 250 when it was struck head-on by a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado traveling east.
The Chevrolet Colorado driven by Russell Nowell, 63, of Polk, Ohio, crossed the centerline, according to OSHP.
Nowell died at the scene of the crash, according to the release.
The driver of the Suburban, Steven E. Swafford, 64, of Homer, Michigan, was taken to the Wooster Community Hospital and was then flown to Akron City Hospital.
