CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Wednesday that the Canton Charge will no longer play in Canton.

Starting with the 2021-22 season, the Charge will play in downtown Cleveland at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center.

More information on the team name, logos and merchandise is coming soon, according to a press release.

The Charge played at the Canton Memorial Civic Center for 10 years and nine seasons. Their move comes as the building lease expired, with the franchise deciding against a renewal.

“We’re very thankful for the seasons we played at the Civic Center in Canton. We enjoyed some truly special moments there with our players, staff and fans alike,” Brendon Yu, Charge General Manager, said in the release.

The 2021-22 NBA G League season is expected to begin in early November, the release said.
