TREMONT, Ohio (WOIO) - There’s a new section of the Towpath Trail to explore!

A ribbon cutting on Wednesday marked the grand opening of a 1.5 mile stretch connecting Tremont and the Flats, according to a press release.

It runs between Literary Avenue and Canal Basin Park.

“Green spaces are essential to improving not only the aesthetic of our neighborhoods but also the quality of life of our residents and their families,” Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson said in the release.

The $9.4 million project began in June 2020, according to the release.
