CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The USS Cod, a WWII Fleet Submarine, will set sail Sunday afternoon for the first time in 58 years.

The submarine is traveling for hull repairs. The work is expected to take approximately 60 days, according to its website.

“We’re truly sad to miss out on our visitors coming aboard until we return, but we have to ensure Cod is shipshape for years to come,” the USS Cod Submarine Memorial wrote in a Facebook post.

The USS Cod hasn’t left its dock since 1963, according to the post.

You can watch the submarine set sail at 2 p.m. Sunday from the pier, located near Burke Lakefront Airport in downtown Cleveland.
