Investors reveal ‘major’ development plans for Cleveland’s riverfront properties
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Several significant city and business leaders announced “major development” plans for Cleveland on Wednesday morning.
Mayor Frank Jackson was joined by Bedrock CEO Kofi Bonner and other officials to detail renderings for plans to better utilize Cleveland’s riverfront land along the Cuyahoga.
Officials said the 20- to 30-year strategy includes providing “thousands of homes” along the Cuyahoga River, improving transit access, and boosting the riverfront community with more retail, residential, and commercial options.
“The initial efforts will focus on replacing aging infrastructure with sustainable and resilient systems, providing for a more walkable, bikeable and transit friendly downtown,” Bonner, of Bedrock, said. “These public improvements will set the stage for a dramatic new riverfront community with thousands of homes, businesses, entertainment and community facilities and services.”
