CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Deshaun Watson, for the first time since various allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against him, took questions and continued to maintain his innocence claiming he was not raised in a manner that would allow him to disrespect women.

Watson who has not been indicted, but still faces 22 civil cases is the newest Cleveland Browns quarterback and to say that there are varying opinions about the blockbuster trade that brought him to Cleveland is an understatement.

There is little question about his abilities as a quarterback but there are many Browns fans who believe Watson has no business in the league and his answers in Friday’s news conference did not change their minds.

“Not really, not really, I mean an accusation needs to be heard, they need to be taken literally and seriously and when people say ‘it doesn’t matter, we want a ring,’ I am sorry I am over it,” said Chelsea.

But not all Browns fans feel the same way, some believe that the justice system has spoken in Texas by not indicting Watson and he should be able to find his way in Cleveland.

“They’re going to convict him or crucify him, whatever the case may be but the alternative is he has to give himself a chance, the community has to give him a chance see how it works out,” said a fan after listening to Watson, again, claiming his innocence.

Others were even more outspoken.

“I think after listening to Deshaun I am not going to pass judgment, he’s got a past, maybe he doesn’t, that is for the courts to decide,” Browns fan Bonita Arnold said, “My thing is, being a die-hard Browns fan, can he bring our team a Super Bowl.”
