Northeast Ohio weather: Very windy Friday with a few late-day showers; cold Easter Weekend
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - It is beautiful out there this afternoon.
A cold front moved through this morning, and it took the clouds and rain with it when it left town.
It’s been a blustery day but winds will subside at dusk.
Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 40s by morning.
Unfortunately, Friday will be our last seasonable day until at least the middle to end of next week.
Highs will top out in the low to mid 60s Friday afternoon.
Friday will also be quite windy with sustained winds from the southwest at 10 to 20 mph, gusting upwards of 30 to 40 mph.
Most of Friday will feature dry conditions but a few hit or miss rain showers are possible later in the day.
As Jeff said this morning, the hope is that the rain stays away from Downtown Cleveland, but we cannot rule out an isolated shower around the ballpark.
After Opening Day, our attention will turn to the forecast for Easter weekend.
Temperatures will be unseasonably cool through the weekend.
We’re forecasting highs in the upper 40s on Saturday and in the low 40s on Easter Sunday.
Another front will swing through on Saturday, and this feature will bring scattered rain showers to the area Friday night into Saturday morning.
Easter Sunday will be beautiful and dry, albeit chilly, for April.
Typical highs this time of the year are in the low 60s.
Winter doesn’t seem to be taking the hint though.
Highs will only climb into the 40s Monday and Tuesday of next week.
We’ll still be running about 10 degrees below normal next Wednesday with highs in the low 50s.
We will finally see 60 degrees again by next Thursday.
