Vermilion husband charged in connection with wife’s suicide

VERMILION, Ohio (WOIO) - A Vermilion husband is charged with reckless homicide in connection with his 81-year-old wife’s suicide.
According to Vermilion Police Chief Chris Hartung, officers responded to the home of Michael and Maria Krupienski on Sunday for reports of a suicide.
When they arrived, officers found Maria dead of a self-inflected gunshot wound.
Chief Hartung said while under the influence of alcohol, Maria apparently voiced suicidal thoughts and Michael gave her a loaded gun.
Michael Krupienski, 71, is scheduled to be arraigned in Vermilion Municipal Court Tuesday at 9 a.m.
