University Hospitals experiencing ‘digital service disruptions’

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Patients and employees of University Hospitals should anticipate “digital service disruptions” for the next several days, said a University Hospitals spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, on Thursday, Oct. 22, hospital staff detected “unusual activity” on their services.

“We activated our response protocols and, out of an abundance of caution, disconnected our systems from the internet,” said a hospital spokesperon.

The spokesperson added there is currently no impact to patient care, but certain digital services are offline during the “around the clock” investigation.
