Snatcher: Police Believe Man Who Tried to Abduct Teen Is Still Lurking In the Area

FAIRLAWN, OH (WOIO) - The Fairlawn Police Department is investigating the attempted abduction of a 13-year-old female.

Police received the attempted abduction call just before 10 p.m. Sunday evening in the area of 75 Trunko Rd. A 13-year-old female reported that while walking westbound on Trunko Rd. from a gas station on the corner of W. Market St. and Trunko Rd., a vehicle pulled behind her and the driver, a male, exited.

The male then reached out and grabbed the female's arm while stating, "Come with me little girl, I'll take you home." The female pulled away from his grasp and ran from him. She suffered no injury.

She described the suspect as being a white male, 50 to 70 years of age, 160 to 200 lbs., bald on top of his head with shorter white hair on the sides and back. He also wore eyeglasses. He was driving an older four door vehicle, light blue in color, make and model unknown. The direction of escape is unknown.

Police believe the man is still in the area and may try to strike again.
