Schooled: Corruption Charges Filed Against Former Maple Heights Schools Big Wigs

MAPLE HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - Breaking new developments in the sweeping investigation into corruption in Cuyahoga County.

The Maple Heights Schools now the focus of the FBI. 19 Action News has learned of charges against three former district heavy weights and companies they did business with. [See the complete list of charges HERE]

Included are Maple Heights Schools former Treasurer Christopher D. Krause. Director of Buildings and Grounds Giacinto Vaccarella and Rocky Laurie who handled food services.

The group treated the Maple Heights Board of Education as their personal cash cow. Selling district equipment and pocketing the money, taking bribes and handing out food and equipment to former Board President Sandy Klimkowski and former Attorney, the late Louis Damiani.

The businesses involved and their owners are Riley Industrial Services boss Shannon Riley. Landscape design associates owner Kenneth Dushmider.

Imperial Heating and Cooling owner Todd Ozanich and three principals of Gemini Development Group Todd Gemma, Ronald Monroe and Bryan Carlton.

Most of these aren't name's you would know. Nine of them. What is astounding about the information are the amounts of money involved. A quick total is about $90,000 with $21,000 in landscaping. And Frank Russo is also mentioned.
