AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Akron Police continue to investigate a rock throwing incident that nearly killed two people Friday.
Akron Detectives tell 19 Action News that they have received two reports in which someone dropped rocks from an I-76 overpass near the Kenmore Boulevard exit.
In the latest incident, a car was hit and police say the couple inside the car were nearly killed.
A 38-year-old man was hit in the head when the rock crashed through his car's windshield. During a phone interview after being treated at Akron General Medical Center, the victim said he had "glass in my face, on my neck and on my arms."
Employees at Accurate Autoglass Shop say the victims in both incidents are lucky they weren't killed.
