EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A robbery victim turns the table on his would-be robber in East Cleveland early Wednesday morning.

Kenneth Jefferson was at the US Bank ATM machine at Forest Hills & Euclid withdrawing money when he noticed a man walking up to him brandishing a large caliber handgun.

Jefferson hid behind a concrete cylinder garbage can initially, but was later able to gain control of the handgun the suspect - identified as Mark Thomas - was carrying.

During the scuffle, Jefferson somehow ended up sitting on Thomas. Workers at across the street Taco Bell witnesses the whole ordeal and called police.

"He must have been a punk if he got sat on," said an amused East Clevelanders. "That's what he deserved, though."

Jefferson stayed on top of Thomas until the cops arrived. Thomas was arrested and is locked up in the East Cleveland jail. The 18-year-old thug has been charged with aggravated robbery.
