(WOIO) - Wyclef Jean may getting ready to announce his run for president of Haiti but he has some issues to deal with here in America.

The Smoking Gun dug up documents that show Wyclef owes the IRS a whopping $2.1 million  in back taxes.

Meantime the hip hop singer is reportedly going to run for president as part of his coalition in the Nov. 28 election.

So far Jean's camp has not confirmed or denied the report although an official announcement is expected to come sometime Thursday night in Haiti.

Jean's new coalition will go by the name Ansanm Nou Fo, which translates as "together we are strong" in Creole.

The 37-year-old was born outside Port-au-Prince but grew up in Brooklyn.
