LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) - For the second day in a row, we're bringing you a disturbing story about a teacher being attacked by a student.
And to make matters even worse, Friday's victim is pregnant.
Officials at Lakewood City Schools are investigating what exactly happened today but 19 Acton News has been investigating ourselves and found out a teacher went to the hospital, and a student went to jail.
Lakewood high students are still reeling from what happened.
"It's shocking. It's not something that happens everyday it's something you watch on TV."
The school district confirmed that a teacher was assaulted by a student. That student was Jim Turley's 16 year old son, Wayne.
"I think he needs somebody to help him and show him that you cant hit people," Jim Turley.
No word on what provoked the attack, but students tell us the victim is pregnant, she teaches Health and Phys Ed and her name is Nicole Anderson.
"She was really nice, really nice gym teacher. I don't know who would do something like that."
Turley says his son is troubled. He's picked on and bullied, and suffers from mental health issues.
"The kids would pick him on the bus, call him names and things. They get together and get him in trouble. He's been expelled from school and things like that. It hurts people when you do a kid that way."
Turley has been arrested and is being held at Lakewood's jail Anderson was taken by ambulance to Fairview Hospital. We've since found out she's been released.
After the incident the district released this statement:
This afternoon at Lakewood High School a teacher was assaulted by a student. The teacher was taken by ambulance to Fairview General Hospital for evaluation and was released. The district and Lakewood Police, who arrested the student, are still investigating the incident therefore we will have no further comment at this time.

On Thursday a 9-year old student at West Bridge was taken into custody. Police say the boy stabbed one of his teachers nine times with a pen. That incident is still under investigation as well.
