Hotel Heist: Police believe brazen thug is responsible for hotel heist, two other robberies

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Detectives are investigating three weekend robberies that appear to be related in the Akron-area.

The first robbery happened around 4PM Friday afternoon at Vicki's Bar on Triplett Boulevard in Akron. Employees reported the suspect entered the bar and said, "I hate to do this, but I'm robbing the bar" at the same time lifting his shirt and showing the employee a handgun that was tucked inside the waistband of his pants. The employee opened the cash register and handed the suspect an unknown amount of money. The suspect fled in a silver, four-door car, possibly a Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable.

The second robbery occurred around 5:30PM Saturday evening at the Quality Inn on Gilchrist Road. The suspect approached the front desk and demanded money. The suspect threatened that he had a gun in his waistband. The clerk opened the cash drawer and handed the suspect the money. The suspect fled northbound on Gilchrist Road in a silver, four-door car, possibly a Chevy Cavalier.

The third robbery occurred at the Hampton Inn on Arlington Ridge East in Green shortly after noon on Sunday.

The suspect is a white male, 35 - 40 years old, 6'0" - 6'02", 200 lbs. He has short red or brown hair, medium complexioned with a puffy goatee. He was wearing a black and orange Harley Davidson baseball hat, gray t-shirt, blue jeans and tan work boots.
