Homeowner pulls gun on burglary suspect

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - Jackson Township Police investigating an aggravated burglary that happened on Lutz Ave. NW, Massillon on July 7th.

Edmond J. Wise arrived home just before 7PM to find an unfamiliar vehicle parked in his drive. Upon approaching the home, Wise could clearly see the rear door was open with the suspect still inside.

Wise demanded the suspect stay while he contacted police, but the loser attempted to flee. The homeowner produced a fire arm, ordering the suspect to remain. The suspect then exited the residence and was once again ordered to remain in the driveway area of the home. A physical altercation ensued in the driveway between the suspect and the home owner resulting in the home owner sustaining minor injuries to his hand.

The suspect then fled in an awaiting vehicle. He was identified as 22-year-old Christopher Scott of Canal Fulton.

Township Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and are attempting locate him. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Jackson Township Police Department at 330-832-1553.
