Cleveland police seek cowardly driver who hit three-year-old child, fled the scene

A toddler has been released from the hospital while Cleveland police still search for the cowardly driver who ran him down and then fled the scene.

It happened Thursday night shortly after 10PM on East 129th Street.

Police say the Raimere Florence was following his mother across the street as she went to pick up a pizza. As he walked across the street, he was struck by a blue Dodge Caravan with tinted windows and an Ohio temporary license plate.

After hitting the little boy, the driver stopped, exited the vehicle briefly, then got back into the car and fled the scene.  EMS rushed the Florence to Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital.

The hit-skip accident is being investigated by the Cleveland Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit.

Anyone with information on the driver or the suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Accident Investigation Unit at 216.623.5295.
