Cleveland Police investigate double shooting on city's east side

Cleveland Police are investigating a double shooting near a playground Saturday.

According to Cleveland Police, Friday around July 15th officers responded to 2335 E.82nd Street for a male shot.

Upon arrival, officers located James Jackson, 26, with gunshot wounds to his left leg, abdomen and wrist.

EMS arrived on scene and transported Jackson to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was confined for his injuries.

During the investigation, officers were informed of a second shooting victim with a gunshot wound to the leg who had walked into the Cleveland Clinic. The male was treated for his injuries and is expected to be released.

The preliminary investigation revealed that both victims were in the area of 2335 E. 82 Street when three unknown black males approached them started shooting, hitting both victims. After shooting the victims the males fled the scene southbound on E. 82nd Street.

While touring the area for the suspects, Third District Officers recovered a handgun in the area. Officers continued to search for the suspects with negative results.

The suspects were described only as three black males.
