One hospitalized in undercover drug bust on Cleveland's east side

Cleveland Vice Detectives were on scene of East 141st Street and Kinsman Friday morning for an undercover drug bust.

19 Action News has learned that during the controlled buy between detectives and two suspects, they went to make the arrest and one suspects quickly placed something in his mouth.

Police say the 23 year old suspect who placed the substance in his mouth fought with detectives and rested arrest.  To get him under control detectives pepper sprayed him.

After they placed that suspect under arrest they began to rise his eyes with water to get rid of the pepper spray, at that time he began to experience shortness of breath, shake and lose consciousness.

EMS was notified, responded to scene and the suspect was conveyed to South Point Hospital.  After that time the suspect was later transferred to Cleveland Clinic, where he is being treated.

The second suspect is a 34 year old male and was arrested without incident.
