Final suspect arrested in Euclid man's murder

EUCLID, OH (WOIO) - New details on the murder of a Euclid man killed in front of his children and fiance.

19 Action News has learned Taunee Smith was arrested Monday night in Cleveland in connection to the murder of DeJohn Dammons.

Dammons was fatally shot at his Breckenridge home on August 29th.

The 34-year-old arrived home and was overpowered at the door by five men. The suspects led Dammons back to his car, where he was fatally shot while his finance and two kids watched from inside the home.

Smith was the last suspect to be apprehended in the crime. Police say the crime wasn't random. Among those arrested in the murder, Dammons' little brother.

Charges against Smith are pending.

Officials are crediting Lead Investigator Det. Dan Novitski for handling the case.
