Cops nab two Willoughby burglars

WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) - On February 07, 2012 the Willoughby Police Department began investigating a burglary
that occurred in the 38500 block of Bell Road.

Sometime between 9:00 PM on February 06, 2012 and 5:00 PM on February 07, 2012
forced entry was made into the home by breaking a window on a rear door. Once inside

On February 11, 2012, the Willoughby Police Department arrested and charged Allan
Ferguson, age 37, of Eastlake, and Duglas Medley, age 51, of Grand River, with one
count each of burglary and theft.

The pair was taken into custody after the police department received complaints of a
suspicious male running through yards and hiding in between homes in the Gold Rush
Drive and Bell Road areas at about 5:14 PM. With the assistance of several alert
residents, officers tracked Ferguson to the area of Adkins and Lost Nation Roads.
Ferguson was taken into custody without incident.

Medley crashed his red 1995 Honda Accord as he attempted to enter SR 2 from Lost
Nation Road. Ferguson fled on foot due to several outstanding warrants. Medley was
later taken into custody when he returned to his car.

Medley had previously done drywall work for the victim who had been remodeling the
home at the time of the burglary.

Ferguson faces additional unrelated charges of tampering with evidence and trespassing.
Ferguson attempted to dispose of his crack pipe when he was arrested.
