Five people arrested for manufacturing meth in Akron

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Five people arrested for manufacturing meth in the city of Akron.

Around 4PM Monday afternoon, officers conducted an investigative/traffic stop on a vehicle leaving a possible drug house in the 1000 block of North Main Street.

Additional officers went back to the house on North Main Street and talked to the home owner.

Officers could detect a strong odor of chemicals, commonly used to manufacture Methamphetamines, coming from inside the house. Offices then obtained a search warrant and recovered two labs in the house.

Officers recovered over $11,000 in cash, 25 grams of Methamphetamines and a very large amount of chemicals.

Officers arrested Shawn C. Smith, 37; Michael C. Stewart, 47; Caitlin J. Sullivan, 28; Michael R. Small, 46; Aaron P. Leslie, 36.

They were charged with Illegal Manufacturing of Methamphetamines, Illegal Assembly of Chemicals, Trafficking in Methamphetamines, and Possession of Methamphetamines. They were all booked into the Summit County Jail.
