Girls basketball coach among those arrested in prostitution sting

WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) - A number of people arrested in a prostitution sting in Willoughby.

On Thursday and Friday of last week, Willoughby Police Department conducted an operation targeting the customers of prostitution. Detectives placed an ad on a website frequently used by prostitutes. The ad offered adult services for a special rate of $100 for a half hour.

12 men, including a teacher and girls basketball coach, responded to the ad and were taken into custody without incident after they entered a motel room expecting to meet a 20-year-old woman. A cooperating Willoughby motel was used during the investigation.

The men were all charged with soliciting and criminal tools.

Those facing charges are:

Timothy D. Asberry, age 54, Willoughby Hills
Gill S. Gurinder, age 31, North Royalton
Nagi J. Haddad, age 55, Rocky River
Raymond T. Kern, age 50, Mentor
Ryan B. Tyna, age 42, Hudson
Ramone A. Davis, age 26, Cleveland
Johannes Reinhard, age 64, Palm Beach
Eugene Preston, age 38, Beachwood
Bert M. Brown, age 55, Beachwood
Richard M. Salajcik, age 47, Eastlake
Efren Romero, age 41, Painesville
Bryan Hess, age 51, Cuyahoga Falls

The Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Superintendent tells 19 Action News that Ryan Tyna was the girls basketball coach for the past two years. He also was a teacher at Eastlake North.

He has been fired from CVCA in Cuyahoga Falls and was placed on administrative leave from Eastlake North.
