Indians survive Perez meltdown, beat Twins

Cleveland (WOIO) - The Indians kept their streak alive on Thursday night, but once again, it wasn't easy, as the Tribe survived a 4-run Twins' rally in the 9th, holding on to win, 6-5 at Target Field.

Chris Perez, who blew a save opportunity on Tuesday before Jason Giambi bailed him out with his heroics, had taken the mound in the 9th on Thursday with a 6-1 lead, before giving up four runs, including an RBI triple to Alex Presley, and a two-run home run to Josmil Pinto.

Joe Smith came on to close it out, but not before putting two Twins on base, before striking out Oswaldo Arcia.

Asdrubal Cabrera, Michael Brantley and Carlos Santana all had RBI's for the Tribe, while Yan Gomes went deep with a two-run home run in the fourth.
