Cleveland Indians claim American League wild card spot

The Cleveland Indians beat the Minnesota Twins 5-1 Sunday and claimed a spot in the 2013 Major League Baseball Postseason.

Sunday marks the team's first postseason berth since 2007, when the Indians played in the American League Championship Series.

According to a press release, The Indians will host the Tampa Bay Rays or Texas Rangers at Progressive Field on Wednesday night, October 2, in the American League Wild Card game. The game will begin at 8:07PM ET, and will be broadcast on TBS.

If the Indians win on Wednesday, they will travel to Boston for Games 1 and 2 of the American League Division Series on Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5, at Fenway Park.

Game 3 of the ALDS then would be at Progressive Field on Monday, October 7, with Game 4 – if necessary – in Cleveland on Tuesday, October 8. Game 5, also if necessary, would be played at Fenway Park on Thursday, October 10.

If the Indians advance to the American League Championship Series, it would begin on Saturday, October 12, in the home park of the winner of the other American League Division Series.
