Indians DFA McAllister, call up Holt

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Recalled OF Tyler Holt from Triple-A Columbus.

Designated RHP Zach McAllister for assignment (for the purpose of optional assignment to AAA Columbus).

Holt, 25, has spent the majority of the season with AAA Columbus after starting off the campaign in AA Akron. Combined on the year between the two stops he has hit .310 with 19 doubles, two home runs, 29 RBI and 30 steals. He leads all Indians farmhands in runs scored (72) and steals.  With Columbus he owns a .317 batting average and is coming off a July where he hit .357 (35-98) with 28 runs scored in 25 games (.422OB%).

The right-handed hitting Florida State alum has also hit at a .406 (28-69, 1.001OPS) clip vs. LHP at Triple-A. Holt begins his second stint with Cleveland after making his MLB debut as a defensive replacement on July 6 during a two-day stint, July 6-7.
