Investigation: Man found dead in street

Cleveland Police are investigating after a man's body was found lying in the middle of the street.

According to police the body of Jock Oliver found early Tuesday morning in front of 11201 Forest Avenue.

Officers responded to the area of the 11200 block of Forest Avenue for a male shot. Upon arrival, they located Oliver in the street, he was unresponsive and pronounced dead by EMS on scene.

He had been shot in the back.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was outside working on an automobile, witness reports state that he was approached by a male who pointed a gun at him and shot him.

The suspect is described as a black male, late teens/early 20s, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark high-top athletic shoes.

The Medical Examiner has ruled the 47-year old's death a homicide.
