Lorain County judge indicted

LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge was indicted today on three counts each of falsification, tampering with records, soliciting improper compensation, and having an unlawful interest in a public contract. Six of these charges are felonies.

Reporter Paul Orlousky confirms that most of the charges are not court-related.

Judge Burge has been on the bench since 2007. He has been on several high profile cases, including the Nancy Smith acquittal and the Kovarbasich manslaughter trial.
