Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer announced Thursday that the Browns have signed tight end Rob Housler.
Housler has spent the last four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
Housler was selected in the third-round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Florida Atlantic, he caught 105 passes for 1,133 yards and a touchdown in his four years with the Cardinals.Over the 2012-13 seasons, Housler caught 84 passes for 871 yards. His 45 receptions in 2012 ranked as the fifth-best, single-season total in Cardinals franchise history by a tight end.
In 2013, he accumulated a career-high 454 receiving yards to go along with 39 receptions and a touchdown.This past season, Housler caught nine passes for 129 yards, good for an average of 14.3 yards per reception.
Housler joins a Browns tight end group that includes veterans Jim Dray and Gary Barnidge,
