Lorain Police investigating possible gang-related shootings

LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - are investigating two shootings that happened over the weekend.

On Saturday shortly after 1 p.m., police say two males were shot near West 23rd Street and Beech Avenue. Darius L. Davis, 22, and Cashmere A. Patterson, 23, both of Lorain, were transported to

with gunshot wounds. While both males were alert after the shooting, their conditions are unknown at this time.

On Sunday around 4:15 p.m., police say a 17-year-old male was shot in the foot as he was walking near his home in the 900 block of Washington Avenue. The wound was not life-threatening, but the victim was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment. Witnesses say several males in a blue car drove past the victim and shot at him from inside the vehicle. Lorain Police have several suspect leads and are actively investigating the matter.

Police say although both incidents are believed to be gang related, they do not appear to have a connection.
