CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The next step in the Flats East Bank project began on Thursday.
Beerhead Bar & Eatery opened for lunch. The restaurant features live music, 50 beers on tap and more than 400 bottled beers.
Developers and county officials held the official ribbon cutting on phase two of construction later Thursday afternoon.
In the past year, the East Bank of the Cuyahoga River has transformed into a popular destination. According to the Flats East, phase two of the project added an eight-story, curving apartment building near the river. The building has six residential floors that will sit above street-level restaurants and businesses, with parking hidden inside. The apartments are modern and marketed toward young professionals wanting to live downtown.
Other phase two openings:
- Crop Rocks
Phase three of the project involves a boardwalk, movie theater, retail, and several standalone restaurants, making it a mix of downtown living and entertainment.
