Cleveland Councilman Zack Reed will host his annual Family Unity in the Park event at Luke Easter Park this weekend.
To kick off the event, Reed and the Cleveland Police Department will layout a detailed safety plan to ensure a safe family friendly event Wednesday afternoon.
"For the past 12 years, families have enjoyed this free concert and fireworks show in historic Luke Easter Park with no incidents of violence. It is my hope and the aim of the Cleveland Police Department that this year will be no different. Although our past plans have successfully prevented violence at our event, we have revamped and strengthened our safety forces in order to ensure that we have a safe environment this year. I am inviting families and friends to come together for a family friendly day "says Councilman Reed.
Saturday's festivities marks the 13th year of the very popular event, featuring fireworks and a great line-up of musical entertainment.
This year's lineup includes Angie Stone and Najee.
Over 20,000 people are expected to attend.
The event runs from noon to 9 p.m.
