CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The daughter of Cuyahoga County Commons Pleas Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold plead not guilty to domestic violence in court Friday after being arrested for an alleged assault against her mother on Thursday.

Syndey Saffold, 30, was arrested Thursday night and charged with domestic violence after the incident at her mothers' Bratenahl home. According to the police report, Shirley says that she was babysitting Sydney's 3-year-old son while her daughter was at an event. Shirley had asked Sydney to come home early so that she could go to sleep and started texting her asking her to come home as it got later into the night.

Shirley told police that Sydney appeared to be intoxicated when she arrived home. The two got into an argument, during which Sydney punched her mother one time in the face. Shirley says that she then pushed her daughter to the ground and punched her one time in the face. Sydney then called the police.

The officer on scene also noted that Sydney seemed intoxicated, and said that both she and her mother were vague about the events of the night.

Both refused to let police officers photograph their injuries.

Shirley told officers that she would not be pressing charges.

Sydney was arrested and taken to the Euclid Jail for processing. She plead not guilty at her arraignment on Friday morning, where a no-contact order was put in place. Her bond is set at $5,000.

Sydney's next court appearance is set for Aug. 31.
