BRUNSWICK, OH (WOIO) - The search for an abducted teenager ended Tuesday in Northfield. Brunswick police issued a statewide search for Robin C. Roberts just before midnight Monday.

Her father, William Roberts, 40, was arrested after a police chase. Northfield Police saw the vehicle they were looking for and attempted to stop the truck but say he took off, and hit speeds up to 75 mph in 35 mph zones.

The father has been charged with felony fleeing and eluding and is being held in Summit County Jail. He is also being held on two felony counts of kidnapping.

Robin Roberts, a 15-year-old sophomore at Brunswick High School, is under foster care. The alert was prompted by her leaving a Brunswick K-mart with her father. Authorities believe he eventually surrendered when he realized how many cars were chasing him and he felt he had no chance.

William Roberts is a registered sex offender, has a drug history and is known to use meth.

The sex offender registry says he was convicted in April 2005 of gross sexual imposition with a sexual motivation against a female juvenile.
