33 best #CLEvsTBS tweets: Cleveland rallies together against network

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO)- TBS upset a lot of Clevelanders with its coverage of the Indians sweep when the network photoshopped a picture of their analysts on top of a burning river to symbolize the city.

The Cuyahoga River famously caught fire in 1969. However, TBS didn't even use a picture of the actual Cuyahoga River fire, instead using a picture of smoke from a Moscow pipeline that burst in 2015, injuring two adults and one child.

Fans took to Cleveland 19's hashtag, #CLEvsTBS, to express their anger with the network and demand a public apology. The hashtag amassed more than 327,000 impressions in just 24 hours. The tweets showed off everything beautiful about Cleveland, proving to TBS that they made the wrong move with their pic.

TBS issued a statement about the image, saying they "regret" using the burning river image.

"Cleveland is a great city and we regret the use of the image. We look forward to putting the focus back on an exciting ALCS," a Turner Sports spokesperson said in a statement to Cleveland 19.
