CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Cavaliers unveiled their new NBA Championship Banner on Sunday at the annual Wine & Gold United Members Meeting. The event, which is exclusive to season ticket holders, showed off the banner ahead of its official debut at Tuesday, Oct. 25's home opener.
Cavs owner Dan Gilbert tweeted a picture of the banner after the event, saying "Next stop: the rafters at The Q Arena!"
The Cavs' presentation of championship rings and banner raising will take place before the 2016-17 season opener vs. the New York Knicks next Tuesday at The Q.
The 100" wide by 164" tall banner includes the Cavs logo in the team's wine and gold colors. It is the first ever championship banner for the team and represents the end of a 52 year championship drought in Cleveland.
