MEDINA, OH (WOIO) - The annual Meadows Turkey Bowl raised more than $245,000 for families in need this Thanksgiving.
For those playing in the turkey bowl it's more than just a game of football, it's about people.
"Our game this year is in honor of Beth Mowrey. She passed away recently from cancer and this is a way we can help give back to not only her family, but other families in a similar situation," said the game's creator, Mike Meadows.
During the past decade volunteers have been able to raise more than $1 million to help families in need.
