CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A couple from Baton Rouge, Louisiana has won an overnight stay in the 'Christmas Story' house. In the three decades since the movie was first released, 'A Christmas Story' has built a huge fan following.
Along with the leg lamp, Ralphie, the main character and the rest of the cast not only delivered some memorable lines but unforgettable scenes that have become part of the Christmas Holiday for millions of fans. It explains the long line to visit the Tremont neighborhood house on west 11th street.
Making their way to the front of the line this year, online Auction winners Aleesha and Chris Kuhn of Baton Rouge. This is their first visit to Cleveland and the big attraction was seeing this house. Chris Kuhn considers himself one of the movie's biggest fans.
He has seen it countless times.
"For the last, I don't know, five or six years, Christmas Story, 24 hours it's on, except when I'm sleeping," said Chris Kuhn.
"I know how much it means to him. I see the expression on his face just when the show comes on TV. I know it was going to be worth it" said Aleesha Kuhn.
Kuhn's bid of $4,000 won this year's auction to spend Christmas Eve in the house. She said watching her husband's face as he walked through the front door of the house, was worth every penny.
"It was well worth the $4,000, said Aleesha Kuhn.
The owners of the famous Tremont Home don't keep the money for themselves. Instead it goes to the Restoration Project Foundation which pays to revitalize and renovate this part of Tremont.
