CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - News of Cavs star Kyrie Irving possibly asking to be traded from the team sent shock waves across Northeast Ohio on Friday.

Cleveland 19 hit some local basketball courts to see what Cavs fans think about the possibility of losing a fan favorite.

Dayshawn Hood and Letcher Craft were on the court Friday, shooting hoops outside of the Michael Zone Recreation Center on the west side of Cleveland.

"Kyrie, don't leave Cleveland!" Hood said.

Cleveland 19 asked them what kind of loss this would be to the Cavaliers.

"He ain't LeBron, LeBron is the X factor by himself. But Kyrie handles, he's so inspirational to kids. Can't leave, this is his home," Hood said.

Cleveland 19 asked NBA insider Sam Amico just how devastating this possible trade could be to the Cavs.

"I guess it just depends on what the next move is," he said. "Do you trade Kyrie Irving? And if you do, what do you get back for Kyrie Irving? Does it work out, does it resolve itself? This may be made out to be more than it is. We still have to hear from Kyrie. So once we hear from Kyrie, we'll know more about how bad this actually is."

Could LeBron leave the Cavs soon too? Amico says that could happen even if Kyrie stays. But he sees a bright side to all of this talk.

"I think maybe if you trade Kyrie Irving, the possibilities could be endless and the team is all of a sudden better," Amico said.

Back on the court, Letcher says if Kyrie does leave the Cavs, fans won't take it well.

"Kyrie, he's one of the greatest point guards ever. If he leaves though, they might pull a LeBron, burn his jersey, that type of stuff. Hopefully he don't leave, hopefully he just stays," he said.

But these guys couldn't help joking about it, as tough as this news is to hear.

"I might take his spot, I might be the next Kyrie!" Letcher said.

Fans Cleveland 19 spoke to say they want to see the "Big Three" stay intact to fight the Golden State Warriors again and pull off another championship for Cleveland.
