(OHIO) WOIO - Any kid who was into sports video games in the mid 1980s and early 90s loved the 'Tecmo Bowl" franchise for Nintendo. It was the first NFL video game that featured actual names of players and had amazing realism (as far as late 80s and early 90s game systems were).
Now Tom Jenkins the founder of "Tecmo Cleveland" is helping keep the popular game alive with a tournament on Aug. 5. It will be at the American Legion Hall in Avon Lake and will have 80s style televisions , displays and cash prizes.
