Woman charged with texting while driving indicted in Coventry Township crash that killed 2 teens

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) - A Summit County grand jury indicted Wednesday Natasha Boggs, 24, of Weaver Road in New Franklin. She's charged in connection with a deadly crash that killed two teens and left a third severely injured.

Boggs was indicted on the following charges: involuntary manslaughter, aggravated vehicular homicide, tampering with evidence, vehicular assault, vehicular homicide, negligent assault, marked lanes violation, and texting while driving.

The crash happened on May 28.

Police say Boggs was texting while driving on South Main Street in Coventry Township when she drove over the marked lane on the side of the road, striking three teens who were walking down the street. 14-year-old Taylor Galloway of Akron, and 14-year-old Amber Thoma of Coventry Township, died. A 15-year-old was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Boggs is scheduled to be arraigned in Summit County Common Pleas Court next Wednesday at 8 a.m.
