Taste Buds conduct blind taste test of local pasta sauces and discuss Copper River salmon

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It's time for Taste Buds, Cleveland 19 News' weekly video podcast about all things food! Each episode features two local chefs, David Kocab of The Black Pig in Ohio City and Matthew Mytro of Flour Restaurant in Moreland Hills. They are joined in the digital studio by co-host Jen Picciano of Cleveland Cooks.

This week, the Taste Buds are conducting a blind taste test of the pasta sauces produced and sold by local chefs and restaurants. There are eight they will sample and critique. The offerings come from Chef Zack Bruell, Chef Dante Boccuzzi, La Vera Party Center, Trattoria, Little Italy, Ohio City Pasta, Stancatos, and Tito Francona and Sons.

In addition, the Taste Buds will welcome Chef Regan Reik of Pier W. He'll join the show to discuss Copper River Salmon. There's been no fishing (or very little that only happened at the beginning of the season) in the Copper River because of environmental conditions.

The chances someone in our area has freshly caught Copper River salmon is very low because of the situation right now. Chef Reik will discuss sustainable seafood and their efforts to serve responsibly caught fish.

Catch Taste Buds Tuesday at 10 a.m. live on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or on Cleveland 19 News' app, website or on Facebook Live.
